Just Wish I Could've SEEN It!!!

It really sucks having this DirecTV sometimes...they won't show Cleveland games unless you pay EXTRA for them! However, the NFL has given DirecTV exclusive rights to sell their game package...so that is why we have it...so we can watch FOOTBALL!!!! Dang. I have to watch most of the Tribe games in delay on my puter. The other good thing about DirecTV right now is that The Big Ten Network is in dispute with Time Warner Cable over how TW is making their subscribers pay extra to view it so BTN isn't allowing TW to air their games for now...DirecTV at least is letting its subscribers view it as part of the regular package. So, while TM cable subscribers will NOT be view the Ohio State game at home tomorrow, I will!

Last night was BRILLIANT as far as the Browns game!! It was a shocker to just about everyone! The Browns taking down the BEARS, 19-9!!!! And I thot the Browns were going to get clotheslined. Just wish I could have seen Crib's 70 punt return. Well, I CAN but I have to wait until Sunday to see the game. Sucks. I hear the Bears were dazed and confused.

The Tribe managed to squeak one out last night, too. Good thing since the Tigers also won their game. We are heading down the home stretch here and the Tribe really needs to get a little farther out ahead of the Tigers in order to keep their place at the top of the AL Central. 4.5 games is still too close for comfort.

Tonight I will be settling in to watch the Colts/Bengals game. I really would like to see Chad Johnson get stomped. He is like a flame about 3 ft. high...burns my bottom!

I am beginning to wonder if just MAYBE the Browns MIGHT give the Squealers a run for their money after all on Sept. 9th?

Preseason Football, The Tribe, and Ickie Vickie

Last night was a good pre-season football night! The Colts showed that they are still playing great despite some 'key' player losses. Peyton has always been very good at reading the field no matter what.

The best battle I watched was the one between the Cardinals and Chargers. Poor 'Matty' Leinert was trying but his team was giving him a LONG hard way to go...having to start out from your own end zone not once, but twice. His shots were a little to ambitious for most of his receivers though...he gives them too much credit for having extra human speed. Last I checked there wasn't any of those superhumans with those stretchy arms in football. But, boy, those Chargers had a lot of fight in them. I was especially blown away by Lorenzo Neal. Here is a guy that is in his late 30's STILL showing a lot of energy and attitude. In order to elude a tackle he did a DIVE over the impending tackler, that ended in a roll, he sprang to his feet and kept on a goin'!!! Unfortunatley, when he got brought down, he fumbled the ball before ground contact and the Cardinals got it. All that razzle dazzle amazement should NOT end so heart breakingly. But Neal showed he's STILL got it. Kudos to Neal.

The game between the Browns and Broncos was disgusting...even though it was the Brown's first win over the Broncos since 1990...and EVEN though we DID manage to win...barely. And it isn't just in the score that shows we barely managed a win. It was pitiful. Charlie Frey's first drive with the team was precise and mobile. There after, . So in comes Derrick Anderson. He fell short every time...but he made bad choices...for instance, I really feel that Kellen Winslow is not interested in playing pro ball anymore...cause he isn't playing it on the field. Get out the scissors!

When Brady Quinn hit the field he showed his accurate, driven style. Twice he drove the team to score...only the end zone grab by Jurevicius was ruled out of bounds, which even the announcers were questioning. It was worth another look...close look by the officials but Romeo didn't challenge the call...if it had been regular season he most certainly would have. He doesn't get too upset with preseason games, like some other coaches.

It really doesn't matter who is the starting quarterback or who is 2nd or 3rd string...we have 3 good ones cuz Anderson CAN perform...it just wasn't last night. So, Romeo should treat the whole situation like a bullpen...if one isn't performing, pull him and send in another. Our players seem to respond accordingly. Maybe that's what they need to keep them going...variety in style.

I will say this for Denver...I am not sure it was a good thing that they lost Plumber...altho he was too inaccurate at times, and he WOULD have made a good backup QB, maybe the Broncos should have traded him (if anyone else wanted him)for another good backup. Jay Cutler is dynamite...he moved the ball down the field with precision and quickness...he didn't burn a whole lot of clock time. HOWEVER, if HE gets clocked... I'd rather be in the Browns' QB predicament right now.

It should be noted, IF we had put Quinn in the game a wee bit earlier last week, we could have come out on top of those ICK Lions. Do you think I was happy to see the Colts just bury them in the dirt last night? What do YOU think?

On to BASS-e-ball... OOOOhhhhh tooo bad for the Tigers yesterday...that loss to the Yankees...darn shame there...DARN shame.
My wee little heart was just happier than a clam in sand with the Tribe's win over KC...it wasn't just the numbers but lo and behold! Sizemore and Martinez found their swings again! Both homered in the game. whew. For a long while there I figured we was a goin' down swinging. We are still not too far out ahead of them Tigers...only 2.5 games, but it works.
*********************************************************************
And now...I just HAVE TO mention this...I HAVE TO... Michael Vick...Falcons...just what do you think the chances are of the Falcons recouping their 22 mill signing bonus back from the Ick Vick?

 Fun and Outrage

I was thinking that the Tribe did not deserve to be at the top of the AL Central...they seemed to have lost their ability to hit a ball...and score. Until last night. With their 11-8 win over those terrible (detroit) Tigers it showed one of two things: 1) they DO know how to hit OR 2) the Tiger's pitcher and offense was not so good. Either way, we scored 11 runs so it is good either way you slice it. The Tribe is now a whole one and a half games out ahead. Nothing like making it a nail biter all the way to the end.

Do you think the players on the Orioles are hiding out today? I think I would. Just HOW in the WORLD do you let a team score 30, count 'em, 30 runs on you? DDDDAAAAAAAANNNNNNGGGGG!!!! Just not right. Were they wearing blinders last night? What a nightmare!

Speaking of nightmares...I think the officials should do something about the Steelers' dirty politics. Their last preseason game against Washington Redskins showed the same thug moves...going for the QB's knees to bring him down. This is PROFESSIONAL football...not backyard ghetto ball. How about some fines and down time for the offenders? And if they end up ruining a QB's career by such maneuvers...take their career away as well.

AND speaking of ruining a career...Michael Vick. Thug, punk...wah wah wah. He has the NAACP trying to make the NFL feel like they are being way too harsh if they don't let poor Mikey play pro ball anymore. Yes, I believe in giving ppl second chances, but he's had his...and someone else's too. The "man" either is totally stupid OR he just don't care cuz he's MICHAEL VICK. I am so freakin' tired of all these sports figures, movies stars, politicians, etc. that feel they are so far above everyone else that laws and rules don't apply. Neither does common decency. Where is the NAACP when some guy of color gets out of jail after robbing a convenient store becuz he was so desperate to feed his family...and now society won't give him a second chance and he can't get hired anywhere to save his life? I don't wanna hear how sad it would be if we were deprived of being entertained by Michael Vick. I've been 'entertained' by him way more than I ever needed to be already.

The Browns MIGHT catch a slight break with this Saturday's preseason game against Denver...since Denver has been plagued with injuries. Of course, with the way the Browns play, I am not holding out too much hope. I think Charlie Frey should be waived, keep Anderson, Dorsey and, of course....Quinn. I know a good QB has a big head...on his shoulders. They have to be 'confident'. I am waiting to see just how Quinn's confidence shows itself. I know I don't have to like HIM...just how he plays. He had a good quarter during the last preseason game against (detroit). Time will tell. I would just like to win a few games! sheesh.

I DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT like Detroit Sports Teams

Maybe Big Head Brady Quinn will actually live up to his own hype...although the Browns lost their preseason game to the DETROIT Lions yesterday (have I ever mentioned how MUCH I hate Detroit teams?) the Mighty Quinn was the only QB we sent out there that could move the ball effectively. I don't know WHY anyone thought that Frey might do any better this year. He has sucked it up for the last 2 seasons. And Anderson is too inconsistant. Our front line has to do a better job of protection, tho, if we are going to send the Quinn out there. I don't have to like the boy...but he DOES have to produce.

The Tribe is out in front of the Tigers by a game and a half so far...and so far, as I write this, CC Sabathia looks like he might be back for the first time since the All Star Break. He was doing good...until then. We are out in front of the Devil Rays right now...but it is only the bottom of the 4th. And the game between the Tigers and the Yankees is too close right now. The Tigers have tied it up...come on Yankees! Put take those tigers by the tail and swing 'em out over the wall. That pitcher you guys have out there today, Wang, SUCKS! How in HELL can a pitcher be so freakin' incompetent to let TWO players steal bases at the same time?!?!? Okay...let me make a correction...the Tigers are AHEAD of the Yankees now. Idiots.

 Lock UP

It may not have been great for the Red Sox fans but I am just thrilled that the Yankees found their footing and beat down those annoying Tigers tonight. Especially since the Tigers pinned the Yankees against the fence last night. BUT...the Red Sox still have 5 games on them. I am also pleased that the Indians were able to eventually beat the Devil Rays. It wasn't anything great...but considering we had Byrd pitching, we did good. I don't know what is up with our batters tho. Actually, there isn't much UP with the batters. (get it...not much up with the batters? )

Speaking of UP...Michael Vick...isn't his time up yet? I don't wanna hear any whining about all the other pro sports players that gamble...wah wah wah. Vick has had plenty of chances to grow up and be an upstanding citizens...he just keeps pulling stupid chit. This time it involved cruelty to animals. Send him straight to lock up with his home boys and he can find out what dog fights are like up close and personal. Enuff of it already...and no delays until the football season is over.

Oh, and can someone do something about Chad Johnson? Not that he's broken any laws (lately)...he is just offensive to ME!
