Last night was a good pre-season football night!

The Colts showed that they are still playing great despite some 'key' player losses. Peyton has always been very good at reading the field no matter what.

The best battle I watched was the one between the Cardinals and Chargers. Poor 'Matty' Leinert was trying but his team was giving him a LONG hard way to go...having to start out from your own end zone not once, but twice. His shots were a little to ambitious for most of his receivers though...he gives them too much credit for having extra human speed. Last I checked there wasn't any of those superhumans with those stretchy arms in football.

But, boy, those Chargers had a lot of fight in them. I was especially blown away by Lorenzo Neal. Here is a guy that is in his late 30's STILL showing a lot of energy and attitude. In order to elude a tackle he did a DIVE over the impending tackler, that ended in a roll, he sprang to his feet and kept on a goin'!!! Unfortunatley, when he got brought down, he fumbled the ball before ground contact and the Cardinals got it. All that razzle dazzle amazement should NOT end so heart breakingly. But Neal showed he's STILL got it. Kudos to Neal.

The game between the Browns and Broncos was disgusting...even though it was the Brown's first win over the Broncos since 1990...and EVEN though we DID manage to win...barely. And it isn't just in the score that shows we barely managed a win. It was pitiful. Charlie Frey's first drive with the team was precise and mobile. There after,

. So in comes Derrick Anderson. He fell short every time...but he made bad choices...for instance, I really feel that Kellen Winslow is not interested in playing pro ball anymore...cause he isn't playing it on the field. Get out the scissors!
When Brady Quinn hit the field he showed his accurate, driven style. Twice he drove the team to score...only the end zone grab by Jurevicius was ruled out of bounds, which even the announcers were questioning. It was worth another look...close look by the officials but Romeo didn't challenge the call...if it had been regular season he most certainly would have. He doesn't get too upset with preseason games, like some other coaches.

It really doesn't matter who is the starting quarterback or who is 2nd or 3rd string...we have 3 good ones cuz Anderson CAN perform...it just wasn't last night. So, Romeo should treat the whole situation like a bullpen...if one isn't performing, pull him and send in another. Our players seem to respond accordingly. Maybe that's what they need to keep them going...variety in style.
I will say this for Denver...I am not sure it was a good thing that they lost Plumber...altho he was too inaccurate at times, and he WOULD have made a good backup QB, maybe the Broncos should have traded him (if anyone else wanted him)for another good backup. Jay Cutler is dynamite...he moved the ball down the field with precision and quickness...he didn't burn a whole lot of clock time. HOWEVER, if HE gets clocked...

I'd rather be in the Browns' QB predicament right now.
It should be noted, IF we had put Quinn in the game a wee bit earlier last week, we could have come out on top of those ICK Lions. Do you think I was happy to see the Colts just bury them in the dirt last night?

What do YOU think?

On to BASS-e-ball...

OOOOhhhhh tooo bad for the Tigers yesterday...that loss to the Yankees...darn shame there...DARN shame.
My wee little heart was just happier than a clam in sand with the Tribe's win over KC...it wasn't just the numbers but lo and behold! Sizemore and Martinez found their swings again!

Both homered in the game. whew. For a long while there I figured we was a goin' down swinging. We are still not too far out ahead of them Tigers...only 2.5 games, but it works.

And now...I just HAVE TO mention this...I HAVE TO...

Michael Vick...Falcons...just what do you think the chances are of the Falcons recouping their 22 mill signing bonus back from the Ick Vick?
