 Does It Count....?

Does it count when your team loses BUT it isn't the ultimate blow out you expected?

I was watching the other team leaping into the air and spinning and twisting to make sure they caught the ball. E-N-T-H-U-S-I-A-S-M and C-O-M-M-I-T-M-E-N-T. Those are two things the Cleveland Browns team lacks. Well, except for Kellen Winslow and 'Big Baby' Rogers.

sigh...to quote a phrase from 'The Waterboy'..."Oh, no! We suck again!" You can replace the word 'again' with 'still'.

 Still in the SUCK ZONE

And I thought that the Browns had a good chance this year. Looks great on paper...but on the field they are no different.

Romeo may lose his job over this BUT, I am beginning to believe that no matter WHO is coach of this team...they will always SUCK.

Note to Brady Quinn...if you have an opportunity to get out and go play for a REAL football team...RUN! as fast as you can.

I miss the days of Brian Sipe and Marty Schottenheimer.

 Will It Work?

I certainly do miss CC Sabathia. He was an icon in Cleveland! However, as with the Browns getting rid of Frey last fall, after the first game of the season, the Tribe has been playing GREAT since the trade off of Sabathia. Nothing like a looming trade to light a fire under some butts!

Although this baseball season seems to be a write off for the Tribe...I will utter the words that come natural to Cleveland sports fans...

THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR.

 Franchise Players

Sometimes I get really disgusted being a Cleveland sports fan.

As a whole, there is NOT ONE sports team in Cleveland that has ppl in charge that KNOW how to really show appreciation to quality talent when it has it. No wonder we don't have 'franchise' players.

The Tribe has had CC Sabathia for a few years...great pitcher! He has performed well...had a slump here and there but always worked hard to pull out and give us some great wins...even with NO help from the offense side. (Pronk...what the HECK happened to YOU?). And NOW, the powers that be are willing to let CC go somewhere else becuz they aren't willing to pay the man to keep him.

The Cavs: I am pretty sure when 2010 comes around, no matter what, LeBron would be going to the Nets. HOWEVER...the money guys and managers, etc. have not made many good decisions on who else to surround LeBron with. The Celtics had LOTS of good players...so does the Pistons. I am not saying the Cavs other players STINK...but we don't have the stand out talent that the other teams do. Our players are kinda hit and miss...is it going to be a good night or a bad night? Even a good night isn't a GREAT night. I will be upset to see LeBron go but it is where he wants to be...New York. I think the city of Cleveland, in itself, has been incredible to LeBron but...he's young and foolish, yet. He wants the night life and the celebrity that Cleveland can't give him. I just hope that the Cavs can find themselves an excellent replacement. Another standout player OR...even better...3-4 really good players that can support each other.

The Browns: If they learn ANYTHING from the Tribe and the Cavs...they will pay Derrick Anderson AND Brady Quinn whatever they want to keep them. And there are also other key players on that team that we need so that we have a chance at playoffs and having a team to go up against the Steelers and Bungles and Blackbirds and WIN.

As a Cleveland Sports fan I am tired of being on the outside looking in.

 And Down They Go

Sad day...waste of time day...

The Cavs never had the lead at ANY time today. I didn't think they'd win this one but I thot there would be a WEE bit more going on. No one could do anything right. Oh, West and James both had their brief (and I do mean brief) shining moments. They just all looked like they felt like they were in the middle of a bad dream. We came close...but this wasn't horseshoes that they was playin'. So, close don't count. Sorry BC...no Cavs/Pistons match up. I didn't want to have to 'witness' that again this year, anyway.

*****************************
And the Tribe let the REDS sweep them! The REDS! gadzooks! The REDS are...well...let's just say, fertilizer. And the Tribe let them sweep them right across the field, into the parking lot, back onto the busses...you get the picture. The Tribe is lack luster at best. The AL Central has no fire in it, period. blech

I think I am going to sign up with Habitat for Humanity this summer...and spend my time in a more useful fashion than to waste it watching baseball.
