Browns, Indians, Cavs, etc.

 Heart Breaker Cleveland Sports

Just WHY do I hang on to it? It is a problem I have with most things in my life...I don't set limits. Letting go of a bad situation is a mystery. When it comes to bad situations in everyday life, if you don't let go, ppl think you are weak. However, in sports, if you DO let go of a bad situation ppl think you are weak...you are not a loyal fan.

Watching the Browns during the pre-season game Saturday night...I am not expecting much...A-gain. Kansas City has a weak ass front line and yet, the Browns barely squeaked past them. If it hadn't been for a last minute fumble recovery, the Browns would have been on the losing end. sigh. I know the crowd was calling for Quinn to take the field, but I was not. I was never happy with picking that egotistical punk in the first place. He hasn't done anything to change my mind, either. His head is so big I'm surprised they found a helmet that would fit. I do not expect him to live up to ANY of the hype or his OWN expectations. It would be great if this was one of those times when I have terribly misjudged someone. But, I doubt that it is.

As for the Tribe...come ON! You guys do this every freakin' year...start out looking good...then stall. It shouldn't be this close of a race with the Tigers. Why are you strugglin' so much? You have a load of great players...on paper. And just what the heck happened to my Pronk? You have been sub-par most of the season. Try some liquid vitamins or something. Perhaps that concusion last season did something to your motor skills and no one has figured that out yet. Do I need to come over there with a blow torch and light a fire under all of ya's? Pop, pop...fizzle fizzle.

AL Central still up for grabs

Boys of Summer...Don Henley

It is still a tight fight for the top of the AL Central. We are one game behind Detroit but have the chance to tie that up tonight...can the Tribe pull it out? They still have not found cohesion. They have never found their rhythm. Too erratic. Like all Cleveland sports teams.

No consistency. The ones that came out of the box heading for greatness have fizzled and died like...well...bad fireworks.

 Need a Lifeline

The Tribe has headed into a 4 game series at home against the Red Sox. This might NOT have been too much of a problem, with the Sox having not much better of a record than the Tribe...except...

The Red Sox have been on a winning streak. A real good one. AND Sabathia, our best pitcher, has been doing nothing better than squat since the all star break.

The Tribe lost the first game in the series. Tonight MIGHT have been a good one if Sabathia was where he was before the break.

Our only save is if the Tigers continue to lose. I really dislike Detroit.

 2007 Espys

LeBron James...you gotta hand it to the guy...as my son said, "he couldn't carry a tune if it was strapped to his back"! He sure doesn't mind putting on a show and letting ppl laugh at him!

And THIS was my favorite award of the evening:

Two Irish Athletes Win Arthur Ashe Award

By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 7/3/2007 2:27:00 PM

Make layups, not war.

A pair of Northern Ireland athletes who have used basketball to bridge the divide between Protestant and Catholic are the 2007 recipients of the Arthur Ashe courage award at the annual ESPYs awards.

Rugby player Trevor Ringland, a Protestant and Dave Cullen, described as a Catholic who "grew up using basketball to escape from the realities of war" teamed up to create PeacePlayers to bring both sides together on the basketball court.

The award, which is named after the late tennis star and humanitarian, will be given out July 15 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood and televised on ESPN, which gives out the sports awards.
