Browns, Indians, Cavs, etc.

 Browns...get betta and betta...who knew?

The Browns' WHOLE team was there and playing today. The D-FENCE was doing their thang...like they should have been all along. The game against the Texans was the shot in the arm the Cleveland Browns fans have been waiting for...with the Browns winning 5 of their last 6 games. They are up and moving...resuscitated back to life. I haven't been able to sit and enjoy a Browns season this much in a LLOOONNNGGG time! Once they traded away Frye...it was all good! The defense was given a breath of fresh air by the Rookie that the coaching staff let loose into the fray...Brandon McDonald.

And Cleveland is in a wild card slot. Who knew? This team has out done my expectations for this season. I am certainly NOT complaining about them...they are playing like they should.

I guess the Eagles can do good without Donovan...say hello to AJ Feeley! The game isn't over, yet, but any team that can give the NEPs a hard way to play...is GREAT in my book!

In college ball...Ohio State has moved up in the rankings to #3. All they have to do now is wait until Missouri OR WV (or both..ha!) topple from the top next Saturday. I'm not holding my breath...and frankly, I don't want a repeat of last year.

Cavs...out dunked the Pacers. Still 3rd in their division...just wait. The Cavs have played more games than Milwaukee and Detroit...AND it is still early in the season. Cavs started out stuck in tar last year, too. I am still missing Varejao...and I guess he is going to be out of NBA for this year. Anderson...you were the spark, bud. You shoulda signed!!!!

You'll have to excuse me while I go and wrap up in my Cleveland Browns blanket and enjoy the warmth and contentment it gives...along with the knowledge that they are playing again (and Braylon remembered to keep his helmet on...and none of them act like ignorant arses like a certain BenGALS player).

THIS is What Brown Does for Me...

Such a close game weekend...again.

Ohio State looked like they were having a struggle with Michigan. I think they were just trying to make Michigan feel better becuz Michigan has had such a chit season.

Peyton and the Colts have played like they are still in shell shock mode after their loss to Baby Brady...and the rest of the NEPs. They barely squeeked out at the top today. But, in pro football a win is a win....

Speaking of which...not only is a win a win...but a field goal is a field goal. Once the ball passes through the uprights, it is a field goal. Someone needs to put THAT in a memo to Brian Billick. And MAYBE the Ravens could have stopped the Browns from winning in overtime if they hadn't decided for themselves that the game was over before it was. HOWEVER, just as in last week's game against the Squealers, if the Browns had kept their momentum going after halftime, there would have been no question as to who won the game.

Speaking of Squealers...ahem...not only is a win a win...a loss is a loss.

Nuff said...use your terrible towel for your terrible tears.

 And From My Seat....

Okay...crap weekend for sports. From MY vantage point.

Ohio State totally BLEW it...a fall from #1 to #7. Unbelievable. What is going to happen against Michigan NEXT week?

The Cavs are trailing behind Detroit...again (have I ever mentioned that I hate Detroit?). However, the Lions lost to the Cardinals..hee hee!

The Browns...after having such a GREAT lead against the Steelers in the first half of the game...came back and snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory. HOWEVER...I hadn't expected it to be so close. The Browns defense leaves a lot to be desired...and when this season started all I asked was that the Browns be competitive. They have done that. Today was the first time us Browns fans got a glimpse at the old Browns/Steelers rivalry. I do believe next year we will be showing some REAL improvement. This year is better than anything we have done since the return of the franchise. So, even tho we lost the game...we still gained some respect. Way to go guys! Just need a little more tweaking to the defense...and the offense needs to have a little more staying power. But you are getting there.

Which brings me to this....the Ravens LOST! HA! I know that means the BenGALS won...but there was room for that. Next week the Browns play the Ravens and it gives us hope. If the BenGALS can beat them, then the Browns surely should be able to.

The thing that REALLY chapped my buns...the Colts LOST to the Chargers! How the heck does THAT happen? Come ON guys! So you ended up losing to those pukey NEPS last week! You can't let that rattle your cage! Peyton...baby...pull your act together. PLEASE!

Other than the Broncos playing like DA BEARS today...I got nuttin else to say except....

I really feel badly that Wisconsin State ran over Michigan U...NOT!

 50-50

So...I am ecstatic that the Browns ended up taking the Seahawks down...in the end. In fact...I did a dance (no one wants to see it...believe me). It was an amazing game! And, to tell you the truth, I was surprised. But, our wasn't quite as bad as usual...although there were things they could have done better...but they're getting there. I just hope they give a good fight next week against those (who shall not be named) .

Cincinnati still sucks. HA!

I was, of course, disappointed that the Colts lost their 10 point lead against the NEPs and ended up losing their perfect record. At least Peyton loses gracefully...and doesn't make a childish show on the field like Baby Brady. (I REALLY dislike that manchild...childishman...malechild...there ya go).

 Pre-Big-Game Thots....

So...which big game am I referring to? Browns v. Seahawks OR Colts v. NEP. I am not even going to begin to speculate on who is going to win either game. I know who I would like to come out on top. I love the Colts and Peyton Manning...I dislike Tom Brady but I have to admit that he is quite the quarterback. Peyton has a tendency to let things get the best of him sometimes. He doesn't carry that same air of heir-to-the-throne that Brady does. And that is what carries Brady. The idea that his chit don't...well...you know...and he can DO ANYTHING and HAVE ANYTHING cuz he is IT. Makes for a good quarterback...crappy individual.

My biggest problem with those two games today is that they are airing at the SAME FREAKIN time! I can understand why the Browns game is so late...but why the 4:15 time on the Colts/NEP game? Good thing I have TiVo.

Being a Browns fan I would love to see them grab a win...but the defense is just not getting it. We have won some games by offense alone...this will not be one. The best I could hope for is that the Seahawk's defense is all hungover.

As for other games this weekend...

Our local HS football team went undefeated this season and made the CBC playoffs for the third year in a row. AND for the third year in a row they choked on the first round and bit it.

Ohio State seemed to be having a problem with Wisconsin yesterday. But, then Wisconsin got tired. They brought everything they had in the first half...then folded. However the whole thing makes me nervous for the rivalry game in two weeks with Michigan. Watching the game between Michigan and Michigan State yesterday looked a lot like the game OS was playing with Wisconsin. Mich. State got tired and just couldn't keep their momentum going...thus affording Michigan the opportunity to take the game.
I just hope Ohio State can keep their consistancy going. That would lead to that big choke point at the end though...and NO ONE wants to relive THAT horror.

As for the Cavs...they aren't starting out real well...LeBron is having to pick up the slack a lot more and a lot earlier this season. Last year he didn't really show up until January. Friday night he was ALL GAME. Pavlovic finally signed but still has visa issues. Nice. BUT...an agreeement had better be reached soon with Sideshowbob...I mean...Anderson Varejao soon. I know the boy is asking for quite a sum...but you know, he takes more of a beating than any other player on that team and he keeps on running. He has made a significant contribution to the Cavs and he is still young...lots of play time left. Give him what he wants! Dang! I want to see him back out there on that court. Give the boy some respect!
