 Putting the Cookies on Hold
Back to Full Blog

While I am waiting for the cookies to bake....

Today was a pretty good day for me...as far as sports. I got to flip back and forth between the Cavs game and the Tribe. The Cavs game was WAY more exciting, tho.

Cavs 100 Wizards 97...that means the Cavs are up in the series 3-1.
YEEEE HAAAAWWWWW! (excuse me) I was SO glad to see Daniel Gibson up on his game.

The Tribe coulda swept the series with the Yankees...coulda shoulda woulda...but didn't. They took the series 2-1...losing to the Yanks 1-0 today. Imagine sitting thru 9 innings and only one run. I likes a little 'citement! And with the high cost of baseball tickets...them boys best be doing some scoring and running! Defense is doing good...the pitching was good...but where's the offense? DANG!

There is something else that happened today to make me wonder...the Browns traded up in the 4th round of the draft...with the Cowboys...traded up TWICE with the Cowboys. Just WHAT did they trade them? It couldn't be that they traded spots. No one...especially the Cowboys are going to trade just out of the kindness of their hearts. Should I be nervous?

well, my Celts let Atlanta breathe...the red Sox got swept by the Tampa Bay Rays(which is no surprise to me, the Rays got damned good , fast...and the Bucs had a very good draft, so I am hot and cold sports-wise. The Browns will improve...the Cavs will advance...
the Tribe will do fine...screw the Bengals...lol BC

Chris...what I think is hilarious is what the BenGALS are doing to Too Bad So Sad Chad...MAKE the SOB stick to his contract...make him sit on the bench...and for each game he refuses to play...GIVE HIM A STIFF FINE! BenGALS are crap!

heather, the Suns won today - I think Spurs just laid down for the day - they wanted to go back to TX and win there on their own court in front of the their crowd and wanted the gate receipts for one more game plus the TV revenue -

sorry I have about lost all faith in prof sports - I think it is modern gladiators earning big bucks at our expense - and we think it is all honest and legit. At least you know wrestlers are faking it!

I guess enough ranting for an evening

Ah, yes...heard this very same thing from Cuddle today. I am disgusted with their paychecks and their antics myself. BUT...I can't help it...I like to watch. I just don't buy their tickets. If I can't watch if on my TV for free...I check the scores and the write ups on my puter.

There are also all the whiners that need a good swift boot...like Chad Johnson and JEff Fayne...etc. wah wah wah...I can't get my way.

Heather,

I have not been to a Suns game in years! I do go to Diamond backs games - you get relatively inexpensive tickets - as low as $5 or $10.

I refuse to buy their shirts, shoes, etc!

Heather,

The Browns traded up in the fourth round to get Beau Bell (6-2,248), a inside linebacker from UNLV. From the scouting reports that I have read, he will be a good player. The Browns also made a trade for a second fourth round pick, getting tight end Martin Rucker from Missouri. At 6-5 and 248, he will help back up Kellen WInslow, Jr. Watch for the Browns to do some formations on offense using two tight ends.

In the sixth round, they picked Ahtyba Rubin (6-3, 315), a defensive tackle from Iowa State. He should help with defending the run. One scouting report I read on him had him projected as a fourth round pick. Paul Hubbard (6-2,221), is a wide receiver from Wisconsin. Like Rubin, Hubbard was projected as a fourth round selection. He had injuries in his college career, so that hurt his draft status.

The last selection in the seventh round, Alex Hall (6-4, 250), is a defensive end from Division II St. Augustine. Scouts have him slated to play as a outside linebacker.

As for the trades, I think the Browns gave Dallas a draft choice next year. As for other deals the Browns made, I would check out the Browns web site. As for the NFL Draft as a whole, there were many trades made throughout the weekend.
